Cool Veggie Pizza – Another Great Pizza to Make from Scratch

Cool Veggie Pizza

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large pizza crust made from scratch (recipe below)
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • vegetables of your choice

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a lightly greased 9×13 inch pan or 13 inch round pizza stone, push out the pizza dough. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until it becomes a golden brown crust. Remove the crust from the oven and allow it to cool.
3. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, mayonnaise and dill. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture on the crust. Sprinkle toppings on top of the cream cheese spread. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the spread to thicken.
4. Cut the chilled pizza into wedges or squares with a pizza cutter to serve.

Pizza Crust

Makes 1 large crust

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (0.25 ounce) — packet Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 — Cup warm water
  • 2.5 to 3 — Cups organic all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 — teaspoon salt
  • 2 — Tablespoons olive oil or canola oil

DIRECTIONS

Soften yeast in warm water, in a mixing bowl. Add 2-2.25 cups flour, salt and oil. Stir in enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth, about 4 to 6 minutes.
Place dough in greased bowl; Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30-45 minutes. Punch dough down. Pat dough into greased large pizza pan. Top with desired toppings. bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-30 minutes or until done (depending on toppings).
